Aggression and Stress

Please be aware that if a cat becomes particularly aggressive or very stressed, it is likely that I will not be able to complete your chosen treatment in one session and may suggest doing the groom over several sessions. Sometimes I may not be able to groom the cat at all.

It is not safe or fair for me or your pet if I continue with a treatment if they show any signs of stress or extreme aggression.

If I begin a groom but am unable to complete it, I will charge the price quoted at the start of the session for that session.

Animals that have had no experience of grooming or a bad experience of grooming need special handling and present the groomer with greater risks.​

Please be honest with me about your pets reaction to previous grooms, it may save both me and your cat from serious injury.

Matted Coats

If your cat is excessively matted for two consecutive grooms I will not groom it again unless you are prepared to follow my advice and suggestions and groom between my visits. 

De-matting is uncomfortable and stressful and sometimes painful .The more times I have to de-matt your cat, the more aggressive your cat will become with me. Cats remember previous grooming experiences and associate them with the person who carried out the groom. It is incredibly hard for me to work with a cat that fears me before I've even started the groom and it can be very dangerous.

As the cats owner, it is your responsibility to groom your cat adequately between my visits, if you are unable to comply then I will suggest you find another groomer.

Medical Conditions
​ I need to monitor cats with medical issues closely, so please tell me at the point of booking if there is anything I need to be aware of. This allows me time to research conditions I am not familiar with in order to give your pet the best attention whilst it is in my care.

I will not be held responsible for any injury or illness suffered by your cat due to an undisclosed condition.

Parasites
​ The presence of parasites on a cat is a potential nightmare for a groomer! I have to safe guard all of my clients from becoming infested with parasites, so if a parasite infestation is discovered, the groom will be terminated and no further groom booked until the parasites have been successfully treated.

Full payment for terminated grooms will still be charged.

I am unable to provide or administer parasite treatments for your pet but I am happy to suggest products that may help with the parasites in question or I will refer you to your vet.

Flea baths using specialised shampoos may be possible depending on the temperament of the cat. Please ask for advice about this service.
