Which grooming tools should you use?

There are specific tools that you can use for grooming your cat and some are more suitable than others depending on the type of coat your cat has.

Hedgehog Slicker Brush

Loosens and lifts out dead coat. Good for working out small matts.
Elderly Cats/Short Haired Cats/Kittens  

Slicker Brush

Loosens and lifts out dead coat. Good for working out small matts. Slightly harsher bristles than the Hedgehog Slicker.
Long Haired Cats  

Pin and Bristle Brush

Pins loosen the dead coat and massage the skin. Bristle brush makes the coat glossy.

All cats  

Greyhound Comb

Removes loose and dead coat and highlights any areas with excessive build up of dead coat.

All cats  

Moulting Comb

Removes loose and dead coat and highlights any areas with excessive build up of dead coat.

All cats  

Undercoat Rake

Gets deep into the coat and loosens and removes the dead coat.

Long Haired cats  

Silicone Brush

Soft silicone bristles massage the skin and loosen the dead coat.
Elderly Cats/Short Haired Cats/ Kittens  

Clippers

Can be used to remove tight matts in the coat.

Thinning Scissors

Can be used to break up small, loose knots in the coat and trim the length of the coat.
